Welcome to The Art Contest – Home of the World’s only International Online Fine Western Art Competition dedicated to promoting Western Artists Worldwide. Online Competitions are sponsored by The Western Art Rodeo Association. Juried Art Competition & Exhibition on the theme of Western Fine Art. Submissions are limited to work with an emphasis on the Western Theme such as; Cowboys, Indians, Landscape, Wildlife, Equine, Rodeo, Ranch Life, and Americana. Mediums will include; Sculpture, Carving, Oils, Watercolor, Acrylics, Drawing, Photography, and Mixed Medium. Selected winning works will be displayed both online and in our Coffee Table book. Prizes; ect. Deadline; ect. This contest was created to help showcase both established and upcoming artists to Gallery Owners and Private Art Collectors.
This contest is open to artists worldwide. All artwork must be the original work executed by the artist. Artist must be over the age of 18 at the time of entry.
Each category will be judged separately. Each guest juror will have expertise in his or her category: View the Judges profiles for the Current Contest.
Sculpture/Carving: Category includes 2-3 dimensional works.
Painting: Includes oils, acrylics, watercolors, or any other “wet” mediums.
Drawing: Includes, Charcoal, pastel, drawings, etching, or any other “dry” mediums.
Traditional Photography & Digital Art: Traditional photography will be judged as traditional, including black and white, film, full spectrum, color, fine art, and digital. Digital Art will include any artwork completed digitally from a base photograph. Layers, textures, collages, merged images are all included in this category.
Mixed Medium: This category will attend to the needs of artists that do not fit into the categories listed above. This can also be a combination of different mediums.
IMAGE FORMAT & PREPARATION:
Images must be submitted electronically in JPEG format, no larger than 10 MB in size. Images must be 300 dpi or greater and at least 4×6 in size.
As the winning works will be appearing in a printed form ~ rather than in a gallery setting, part of the Judging criteria will include each images suitability for publication. As the artist it is your responsibility to have a photograph that will best show your work. If you are in need of assistance or question the quality of your photographed artwork, you may send a low-resolution image to: Graphic Design Team email address :
$ 8.00 per image for color correction, lighting issues, or cropping. Online Support – Graphic Design will be available.
Fees are : $ 35.00 per artist and will include up to 3 entries. Additional entries may be entered at $ 10.00 each. There is a limit of 10 images per entrant.
First Place : $ 500.00
Second Place: $ 250.00
Third Place: $ 100.00
Fourth – Tenth Place – Will be published on the Online Gallery, and will have an automatic invitation to the next Live Western Art Rodeo Competition (W.A.R.A) Entry Fees Not Included.
By submitting artwork for Jurying, artist grants Western Art Rodeo Association permission to use the submitted images for future promotion, online display, and printed in the COFFEE TABLE BOOK. By entering the contest and for valuable consideration, including but not limited to credited publication, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, entrants grant the International Online Western Art Competition the right to publish and use submitted photographs and video, without prior approval or compensation beyond the terms of the contest, in print or electronic form. Western Art Rodeo Association & the International Online Western Art Competition shares the information collected from contest entries with the Western Art Rodeo Association. By entering your home and/or email address on the contest entry form, you consent to receive promotional mail and email from the Western Art Rodeo Association and our advertisers.
